Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time & Jake Gyllenhaal's rock-hard Biceps!

Needed to do some serious thinking over the weekend( as of this writing, 2 week has passed so I apologize for not updating my blog frequently), so there's no better way to do it by watching an action movie! Weird as may sound, I am able to think clearly after wards. I just needed to find some distraction before I get on with it.

My sister and I were exhausted for days, both mentally and physically, our guard is at it's highest! We anticipate all possibilities and always try to be on our toes (we're talking about an old relative here BTW). It's like playing chess, you watch your opponents every move while figuring out how to stay alive for your next move and eventually corner the king. Waah, I can only pray that time would pass without us even noticing it.Not that it does not ever happen, we just wanted it to be really quick and painless!

Going back to the film, my Supervisor told me that Prince of Persia is 10,000x much better that Clash of the Titans. Couldn't help raising an eyebrow over there for obvious reasons, but because my sister has a huge crush on Jake Gyllenhaal  since his "Bubble Boy" days, I agreed to watch it with her. I like Jake and his humor, I just prefer to watch his lighter movies instead.

But Prince of Persia isn't so bad, come to think of it. Even with it's retro style of filming (think Errol Flynn jumping of windows onto a galopping horse! BTW Errol Flynn is an  actor known for his amazing swordsmanship.) we enjoyed it never the less.

Unlike Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia has more dynamics in terms of story line. There a few surprises along the way eventhough the story is bases on a video game. Whereas with Clash, everybody know whats going to happen as the story of Perseus and the other Greek Gods was taught to us in school, we just want to see how their going to add some "oomph" in the film. The former has better visual effects and cinematography though and is cooler in the eyes. while the latter, being shot in the dessert could be a little intense to look at and they could have done better with their camera angles as it has a tendency to look like it's all over the place, you know? E.g. arrows shooting right at is not very good, specially now with 3D technology!

As you may have noticed, I have been very busy lately and couldn't find the time to keep up with my post, but I'll do my best and try post 1 blog per week atleast for the sake of those who are kind enough to drop by on this web page =D

So my rating on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time? It's 3 1/2 stars! I know it's not 5 stars, but it is still worth your money. I wanted to add a funny video clip of Jake singing "Saturday Night Fever" but since I am at the office, viewing videos (speacially Youtube) is not allowed. Maybe next time *wink*
